Bombay Bars

This is a pic of my second batch of soap! I was a little worried, because I didn’t realize that my GNC Organic Flaxseed (Linseed) Oil containted Vitamin E and Citric Acid. I already had it in the house, so I thought I’d soap with it. Lucky for me, it didn’t mess up the soap. Phew! pH is 8.

The scent is faint. Perhaps (hopefully) as the soap cures, the fragrance will “show up” more.

Bombay Soap

Time to make some soap!

India Spice Tea infused Distilled Water:
It’s my basic recipe, modified to incorporate Linseed Oil into the mix.

So, the ingredients are: Spice Tea, Olive Pomace Oil, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Palm Oil, Virgin Palm Kernel Oil, Mango Butter, Linseed Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Ground Nutmeg and Fragrance Oil.

I was planning on making it on Thursday, but I’ll make it today, so I can cut it on…Thursday. Or course, pics are forthcoming.

My Test Bars

I’m handing out samples of my soap, to friends and family. They’ll be wrapped in tissue paper, with sample bar labels! A few “very special” folks will get a wooden soap dish, as well.

Each “tester” will receive info, regarding the properties of handmade soap, along with usage/storage tips. They can email or call, with feedback. I’m really looking forward to sharing my creations with the rest of my world.
